Behind-the-Scenes (BTS)
Scroll down past " +Show More" to see BTS pics and story. Yes, I have that torn tank top shown in one of the images that many people have been asking about. Nicholas is somewhat new to modeling and flew here to San Diego, California just to do this photo shoot. He's also incredibly unique in the work he does, and living in other countries, in addition to his passion projects that you will definitely be seeing more of him. He was so great to work with over the THREE days of shooting that it was both a fun and creative experience! It was also the first use of incorporating the blue glass stones that I wanted to compliment his incredible eyes. The first images we shot were sunset at the pool at 59 degrees. He was shivering but never hesitated or complained. He was so committed to creating the art, that I love the results we were able to produce!
The next day was 98 degrees in the desert and a four hour drive to get there! We were near the border with Mexico which are the photos you see with the large steel fence. The wind was averaging 40mph that caused the sand to sting and make it almost impossible to do the shoot! Sand gets into everything so the gear has to be wrapped and sealed! You get to see the great end results, but not the effort and struggle that went into getting some of the cool shots. Even the clothes washer couldn't get all the sand out! The sand was piled in the exhaust tube of the dryer! So now you know. A lot goes on behind the scenes to get great images. It's not just body prep and grab a camera.
Ahhh good memories!
We did stop traffic a few times, particularly on the swinging bridge here in San Diego (the photo tearing off the tank top and the gladiator images). People pretending to take selfies while obviously angling their camera to capture him. No surprise, right?! How would you react walking across the narrow pedestrian bridge having to pass a semi-naked perfectly sculpted man with ocean blue eyes who gives you a beautiful happy smile and a warm friendly "Hello"?! You will hopefully see more of him very soon on book covers.
